Governor Abdulahi Sule of Nasarawa State has confirmed the release of the traditional ruler, Jubril Mamman Waziri alongside his wife, Hajiya Sa’adatu who were abducted by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers at Gurku community in Karu Local Government Area of the state.
Daily Trust reports that the victims were kidnapped on August 6, 2023 in the palace situated around mountains in the area.
Governor Sule announced their release during the swearing-in of the 16 new commissioners, comprising 13 men and three women at the Aliyu Akwe Doma Banquet Hall in Lafia, the state capital on Monday.
He said the first-class royal father alongside his wife was in good condition and in good health.

However, the governor did not make it clear whether ransom was paid before the victim’s secured freedom from the kidnappers’ den.
Meanwhile, the governor has warned new commissioners to shun corrupt tendencies and key into his administration’s vision of transparency, accountability and rule of law.
