Abducted Suleja women regain freedom

Four women abducted last Thursday in Suleja town, Niger State, have reunited with their family after 2 days in captivity. 

The victims, comprising the wife of a custom officer and her daughter as well as a wife of a police officer and her daughter were abducted from Kwamba area, along Suleja-Minna highway on the outskirts of the town last Thursday.

City News learnt that the women, one of them a nursing mother, were released by the kidnappers Saturday night. 

A family source, who spoke to our reporter, said the kidnappers, though initially demanded for N25m, finally settled for a million naira each from the two families of the victims. He said they were released by the gunmen along the Abuja-Kaduna highway, from where a family member brought them back home in the night.

Efforts to speak with the Suleja Police Area Commander, ACP Sani Badarawa, were not successful as he did not pick several calls put across to him.
