The abductors of five residents of Yangoji community in Kwali Area Council of the FCT have demanded a N15 million ransom.

City & Crime had reported that gunmen last Thursday night invaded three houses and whisked away five residents of the area after killing a retired head teacher of the LEA Primary School, Kwaita, Ayuba Barnabas, and one other person.

A source, Shadrach Musa, who spoke with our reporter on Wednesday, said the kidnappers called last Wednesday and demanded the ransom.

He said that the leader of the kidnappers had during a conversation with one of the family members of the victims demanded each family of from the three houses to raise N5m.

Musa disclosed that negotiations were ongoing with the leader of the kidnappers to see how the ransom amount could be reduced to a level each family of the victims could afford.

The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, DSP Adeh Josephine, was yet to comment on the incident.
