Abductors of the Benue State Chairman of National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), Chief Sylvester Kanu and his Secretary, Sunday Noaba, have demanded a N50 million ransom on them.

Daily Trust gathered that the two NARTO officials were kidnapped around Aro-Ndizogu community in Imo State on Monday while they were traveling to Port Harcourt in Rivers State for a NARTO meeting scheduled for Tuesday.

Family sources, who do not want their names in print, told journalists, yesterday, in Makurdi that the two men were abducted while about to stop over at Kanu’s hometown in Imo State before proceeding on their journey to Port Harcourt.

It was learnt that a red Pathfinder vehicle had blocked the car in which the duo were travelling while on their way to the NARTO chairman’s home when some gunmen got out of the vehicle, shot sporadically into the air before dragging their victims out of their car into the waiting vehicle and zoomed off.

The Benue State Commissioner of Police, Ene Okon, however told journalists in Makurdi that he was not aware of the incident.
