Abdulsalam wants progress on quality teaching

Former military Head of State, General Abdulsalam Abubakar has urged government to improve the quality of teaching in schools.
Speaking during the 2016 graduation ceremony of El-Amin International Schools, Minna, he said that building schools will amount to nothing if the quality of teaching is not improved and for educational system in the country to improved, individuals need to invest more in education.
"By everyone putting hands on deck, the people will be helping the government improve on education. Government alone cannot do it all; individuals should emulate what late Maryam Babangida has done in setting up this school. To this end, they can help the government in training the future generation."
Director of Schools, Dr. Mohammed Babangida said students must be trained as solution providers and not problem finders adding that any educational paradigm should focus on learning.
59 students graduated in El-Amin International School with Eweje Sumisola Vivian emerging as the Star student of the year.
