Members of the National Peace Committee are currently meeting with the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar and senior members of his campaign team in Abuja.

The Committee is led by a former military Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar , the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese,  Matthew Kukah, Cardinal John Onaiyekan, and Rev. Fr Atta Barkindo of the NPC Secretariat.

Atiku’s running mate, Peter Obi; Senate President Bukola Saraki; PDP Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus; Speaker, Yakubu Dogara; and other PDP leaders are also in attendance.

The meeting, which started around 6:00pm, was convened by the Committee on the outcome of the Saturday’s presidential election and the threat by Atiku to seek legal redress.
