Hon. Leke Joseph Abejide, member representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, has condemned the recent attack in Egbe-Okoloke, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State, which claimed the lives of three police officers and two vigilante members.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Public Communications, Bashiru Abdul Mohammed, Abejide described the incident as “barbaric, heinous and frightful,” expressing concern over the increasing attacks on security operatives and citizens in the area.

“I am pained and worried about the rising insecurity in the land,” he said.

The lawmaker urged both the state and federal governments to take proactive measures to protect lives and property in Yagba Federal Constituency. He also appealed to Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, to act swiftly in ensuring that perpetrators are apprehended and to forestall future occurrences.

Abejide extended condolences to the bereaved families and the Kogi State Command of the Nigerian Police Force, reassuring them of his support and calling for justice for the slain officers and vigilantes.

He emphasized the need for urgent government intervention to address security challenges in Yagba Federal Constituency.
