The Senate of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), said it has reviewed the current situation in the university and will not take a decision on the alleged case of fraud involving the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Oyewole. In a release signed by the university’s Head, Directorate of Public Relations, Mrs. Emi Alawode, the Senate also noted that it supported all measures taken by the Governing Council and the university management to ensure peace, security and unfettered academic activities in the university. According to the Registrar and Secretary to Senate, Mr. Mathew Ayoola, the Senate stated that since the allegations leveled against some officers of the university were before a court of competent jurisdiction, it was reserving its comments. It, however, noted that all accused persons were presumed innocent until proven otherwise by the court.

Meanwhile, the university’s Governing Council has approved the elevation of 23 Readers as professors, while 285 other academic and non-teaching staff have also been promoted.
