Abia First Lady settles medical bill of accident victim

Lady Orji paid an unscheduled visit to the hospital to sympathize with the private school pupils that was rammed over by a tipper driver killing 3 pupil instantly in the school premises.
Daily Trust however, gathered that immediately the stranded patients noticed the arrival of the first lady they besieged her entourage and appealed for assistance for them to settle their accumulated medical bill, this according to the stranded patients would enable them rejoin their families having spent a long time at the hospital.
Lady Orji however presented a cheque of over N500,000 to the management of the hospital to release the patients.
Addressing the patients through the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health Mrs. Nnenna Chikezie noted that this is part of lady Orji’s humanitarian gesture in assisting the less privileged in the state.
 According to her, “the payment of hospital bills of indigent patients has become a regular feature of the first lady, adding that through her project-Hannah May Foundation, she has built residential houses for indigent men and women, empowered many with take-off grant and equipment, promoting maternal child and public health.
