Abia gets resource mobilization group for HIV programme

The Abia State government has inaugurated the Resource Mobilization Technical Working Group for HIV Programme with a charge to develop a new roadmap for the support of HIV/AIDS control in the state.

Inaugurating the team, Secretary to the State Government Barr. Chris Ezem reiterated the commitment of the government to ensure that needed assistance is provided for people living with HIV/AIDS while promising an enabling environment for the State Agency for the Control AIDS (SACA) for optimal performance. 

The SSG, who pointed out that the state is currently going through economic setbacks caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, insecurity and other challenges, tasked the committee to interface with other relevant agencies to control the spread of the virus.

Responding on behalf of the members, the chairman of the Technical Working Group, Mr Ogbonna Ehiemere, appreciated government for the privilege to serve.
