The Abia state council of the Nigeria Labour Congress has saluted the commitment of the State government in addressing labour related issues notwithstanding the economic challenges.
The stand was contained in a press release signed by the state chairman of the union Comrade Uchenna Obigwe following the recent pronouncement made by the state government to ensure that all outstanding salaries and pensions owed workers in the state would be cleared before the end of July 2017.
According to Obigwe, the union appreciated the involvement of leadership of labour in tackling the existing challenges of unpaid salaries alongside pensioners in the state with the next Paris Club money.
Governor Ikpeazu had assured that that with the expected payment of outstanding salaries, he will be able to achieve his campaign promise of ensuring regular salary payments.
