Abia to revoke ownership of undeveloped plots
The permanent secretary made it clear that owners of such plots would have themselves to blame as any underdeveloped or undeveloped plots may be revoked.
Abia State has concluded arrangements to carry out enumeration and verification exercises in some state-owned housing estates around the state.
The ministry of lands, survey and urban planning, according to a directive from the alternate Permanent Secretary, Mr Jonathan Alozie, said that the enumeration and verification exercises would be used to fish out some defaulting allottees who have underdeveloped or refused to develop their plots, after many years of allotments.

The permanent secretary made it clear that owners of such plots would have themselves to blame as any underdeveloped or undeveloped plots may be revoked.
He listed the affected estates to include Isiama Afara (Isimkpa), Redesigned IBB GRA phase 1, Government station (Ogurube), and Isiama Ohafia government station layouts.
The ministry further directed allottees to visit the state director of lands with their title on or before April 30 for verification, warning that the Abia State government may be forced to apply sledgehammer on defaulters.
