In their week 16 match against Lobi Stars of Makurdi, ABS snatched victory from the visiting team when they came from behind to record a superlative 2-1 victory to go unbeaten in seven league matches.

ABS followed up with another impressive -1-1 draw away to Ocean Boys of Yenagoa making the Ilorin club to go eight matches unbeaten.

Speaking to Feverpitch yesterday, the Team Manager of ABS, Mr. Alloy Chukwuemeka said the club’s target is to surpass its own record of eight matches without defeat in the last season in the NPL.

He said his boys will beat Jigawa Golden Stars to break the record they set last season in order to set a new one.

Chukwuemeka however said there will be no complacency as he noted that even if they are down the log, the team from Dutse is not a push-over.

He said ABS will approach the game with all seriousness as he maintained that Jigawa Stars will be out to spoil their party.

“Our target is to beat Jigawa so as to take our unbeaten run to nine matches. Last season we went 8 matches without defeat but this season we want to go beyond that. If we beat Jigawa tomorrow (today) we would have broken the old record and set a new one.

“This is not to say we are going to take chances against our opponents. They are going to give us a good fight. Even though they are in the relegation zone, Jigawa is still a strong side. They have quality players and they are playing good football”.
