The trial of an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and ally of former President Muhammad Buhari, Abdulmajid Kwamanda Danbilki, was stalled on Monday due to the absence of the judge.
Dambilki was arraigned on January 23, 2024, before a magistrates’ court sitting in Nomansland, Kano State, charged with alleged breach of public peace and was remanded in a custodial facility pending a ruling on his bail application.
The court adjourned his matter to Monday, January 29, but the sitting was stalled because the Magistrate, Abdulazeez Mahmud Habib, was reportedly sick and receiving treatment in a hospital.
The case was then adjourned to February 1, 2024, for ruling on the bail application.

Daily Trust further reports that Danbilki was remanded over alleged accusations against Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso regarding the Kano Emirate issue.
He was accused of making inciting comments capable of disturbing public peace during a radio programme in Kano.
