The election which was monitored by the student affairs’ officer Elder Emma Nwoke and National Association of Nigerian Students, Abia State chapter witnessed high turn up of students at the polling unit.
Dean of Student Affairs, Architect Samuel U. Uzoanya, declared the results in front of the administration block. Uzoanya urged the elected union leaders to be good ambassadors of the school.
A 500 Level Law student, Ugochukwu Majesty Chukwuemeka emerged the President with a totl vote of 1,160 against the opponent who got 475 votes while Princess Chukwuemeka emerged the vice-President unopposed.
Others elected executives include, Felix Onyekwere, Secretary General, Oluchi Ujoh, Assistant Secretary General, Ireland Adaobi, Director of Socials, Ndu Rock Okeke, Director of Welfare, Chimezie Ezemdi Zionel, Public Relation Officer, Uchenna Reuben, Treasurer, Ozioma Eluwa Director of Sports, Alugo Victor, Financial Secretary and Amaka Kelechi, Director of Transport. 
NANS, Abia State chapter was around to observe and monitor the election.
Speaking on the outcome of the election, NANS Treasurer Abia State Chapter Comrade Okwusi Rodney Nnamdi described the process as free and fair while commending the electoral team for a job well done.
However some students expressed their satisfaction with the election saying the efforts of the security and electoral team in making the election free of malpractice and violence was commendable and that they are hopeful the elected leaders will work hard to make the union better.
