The Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU),Zaria, Professor Ibrahim Garba, has said the Chinese government is in partnership with the university on capacity building through staff and students exchange programmme.

The Vice Chancellor, represented by the Director of University Advancement, Professor Adamu Ahmed, during a courtesy visit on the Chinese Ambassador in Abuja recently, said the university was greatly honoured to associate with China which was a leading industrial nation on exchange programme.

“China is one of the nations that all developing nations in the world, especially those that genuinely aspire to advance scientifically, technologically and educationally must strive to collaborate with,” he said.

 He however noted that the university is looking forward to deriving further benefits from the Chinese government, especially in areas of library development, provision of scientific equipment and collaborative research initiatives across all disciplines.  An official of the embassy Mr. Yan Xiadong, who received the ABU delegation, pledged to continue to promote the relationship between his country and the University.
