ABU gives security tips as students resume academic activities

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria

The Security Division of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria has assured lecturers, students and the university community of adequate security measures for smooth research and other academic activities as academic activities resume.

Malam Ashiru Zango, Chief Security Officer of the university, who gave the assurance in an interview with Arewa Trust Weekly in Zaria said the security division has further strengthened collaboration with security agencies and other key stakeholders to enhance security in the university and neighbouring communities.

“We have met with the lecturers and informed them on what they need to do to enhance the security on campus as security is a collective responsibility.”

He noted that there were bushes and isolated areas in the university and advised members of the university community to restrict movement in such areas. Zango further advised lecturers residing within the campus to avoid unnecessary movement after closing hours.
