A statement from the university signed by the director public affairs directorate, Dr. Isma’ila Shehu, said the vice chancellor stated this at the flag-off of the institution’s 2014/2015 central students’ orientation programme.
Mustapha also warned the newly admitted students against falling prey to bad influences, from other people within and outside the university, and secret cultism.
He warned: “You also need to be security conscious while you engage in your academic pursuit in the university campus. Report any suspicious objects or movement that is not normal around your vicinity, either in the hostel or lecture room.”
In his address at the occasion, the Dean of Student affairs, Professor M S. Shehu, described university education as an exciting experience which comes along with a high degree of social responsibility thrust upon students.
He said ABU has a place for brilliant students, regardless of their place of origin or religious persuasion.
