The deceased, Fatima Asabe Jibril, was returning to school from Niger State for the second semester when the unfortunate incident happened.
Until her death, Fatima was a 200-level undergraduate in the department of educational psychology and counseling.
Reacting to the unfortunate incident, the Vice President, Students Counseling Association of Nigeria (SCASSON), ABU chapter, Abubakar Ibraheem, said the news was received with shock.
“I was shocked when I heard about the demise of Fatima. I could not believe it because of the closeness between us. I tried to get the fact about the incident and I eventually realised it is true.”
Ibraheem described the deceased as a nice and well-behaved student in the department.
Zainab, a 200-level student of educational psychology and counseling, also described the incident as sad and painful, saying: “May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace. May Allah grant her eternal peace and, insha Allah, ajannatul firdausi will be the final abode of Fatima Asabe Jibril.”
