Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), has cautioned the newly matriculated students that they would face the consequences of their actions or breaches in the institution.

The Vice Chancellor of ABUAD, Prof. Smaranda Olarinde, gave the caution Tuesday at the university’s 16th consecutive matriculation ceremony in Ado-Ekiti.

She advised the new students to avoid bad company, remain focused, disciplined and principled during their stay in the institution.

The vice chancellor said a total of 2,955 students were admitted, including three foreign students who had been found worthy for the 2024/2025 academic session and the university’s 16th consecutive matriculation ceremony.

Prof. Olarinde revealed that ABUAD admitted 2,507 undergraduate students, 34 students into the Open and Distance Learning Programme (ODLP), and 414 students into various part-time programmes.

She emphasised that the unbroken tradition of the ceremony reflected the institution’s mission to redefine education in Nigeria and globally.

She said  ABUAD is  committed  to providing quality and functional education, fostering innovation and instilling core values to empower its students to become leaders of positive change.

She encouraged the newly admitted students to avoid associations that could hinder their academic ambitions.
