He said to achieve this, the privileged few should establish an endowment fund to support professional development as a way of giving back to the legal profession.
Yamah made the declaration at the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the NBA in Abuja recently.  He expressed regret over the “agonising poverty” and appalling conditions of practice by some members of the Bar which, he said, has resulted in the neglect of the standards and ethics of the legal profession.
“The Nigerian Bar Association must put in place deliberate policies that would facilitate the creation of social safety nets for its members,” he also said.
He commended Kanu Agabi (SAN) for his philantrophy through the dedication of a huge building to lawyers as offices without rent and providing feeding.
Yamah commended the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee for making payment of branch dues a condition for the conferment of the rank of SAN.
