APC supporters celebrate victory of the party's presidential candidate Gen Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja on Tuesday Thousands of supporters of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Jigawa, Abuja and Minna, capital of Niger state as well as Kano and Kaduna are jubilating after the their presidential candidate  emerged winner of  last Saturday presidential election.

General Muhammadu Buhari is the first opposition candidate to defeat an incumbent president in the history of Nigeria.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced results of 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory with only one left but the APC candidate is already leading with more than 2 million votes.

The party supporters, young and old poured into the street of Dutse, the Jigawa state capital to celebrate the victory, chanting ‘Sai Buhari’! Change!

Report from Hadiejia, Ringim, Dutse, Birninkudu, Gumel and Kazaure say the residents are celebrating as youths riding on motorcycles and donkeys speed down the streets.

In Minna, the capital of Niger state, the APC supporters swam the roads riding jubilantly with full light and hooking.

The same goes for Abuja as jubilant supporters besiege the party’s headquarter, singing and dancing.
