A House of Representatives member for Abuja-south federal constituency, Alhaji Hassan Usman Sokodabo, has sympathised with victims of flood in Gada-Biyu, Konan, Mada and Ashara communities in Kwali Area Council.
Sokodabo, who was accompanied by the chairmanship candidate of the PDP in the last Kwali council election, Mr Daniel Ibrahim, and some PDP stalwarts, while addressing some of the affected farmers across the villages, said he was saddened by the devastating effect of the flood on farm crops across the affected communities, even as he said he thanked God that no life was lost in the flood.
He asked the flood victims to take the disaster as a test from God, praying that God will make a way for them to recover what they have lost.
Sokodabo assured the flood victims that he had already written to the management of the FCT Emergency Management Agency FEMA, intimating them about the flood so that the agency would provide some assistance to them.
He later donated a sum of N1.5 million to the affected victims which he asked them to use it to buy seedlings.
Responding, the Sarkin Hausawa of Gada -Biyu, Alhaji Aliyu Muhammad, thanked the lawmaker for sparing time to tour the affected communities to sympathise with the flood victims.
