Abuja literary society features women across cultures

Those featured are: Hajiya Hafsa Ahmad, a multilingual poet, who has written several poems in Hausa, Fulfulde, Arabic and English Languages and written four short stories and 2 novels.

The second woman is Eugenia Abu, a former news anchor NTA Nigeria who read from her pamphlet of poetry collections titled ‘A Private scream’ and previous publications ‘Don’t look at me like that’ and ‘In the Blink of an Eye.’

The third woman is Irene Salami-Agunloye, a Professor of Theatre Arts, University of Jos who read from her books, ‘Sweet Revenge’ and ‘More than Dancing’.

Earlier in a statement announcing the event which held at the Lifestyle Bookstore, SilverBird Galleria, the Abuja Literary Society described the three women as “dedicated to promoting literacy, women empowerment, gender equality and democratic practices in the country.”
