Some residents of Abuja have decried the sudden change of weather, claiming it’s very harsh and unpleasant.

Speaking to our reporters, Mrs. Ojonugwa Dashe, said “The rate of dehydration is high because the weather is very hot, unlike the yuletide period when the weather was cold and nice. The heat now is so unbearable.

“The weather is so hot that I no longer feel the impact of my air-conditioner; I now sleep with both my fan and air-conditioner on.”

Another resident, Grace Abu, said because of the hot weather, she was beginning to have skin rashes all over her body, lamenting that the situation was compounded by power outages in her area, which deprived her the opportunity to even use the fan to keep cool.

“This is surprising because we are not in the heat period yet but the heat is already here. May be this is part of the climate change crisis that experts are talking about,” she said.

“Due to the change in weather, I was driving today and the car started overheating. In the afternoon, I always open my doors and windows for cross-ventilation because at some point I feel the fan is blowing heat instead of cool breeze.

There are rashes all over my children and they always complain of feeling hot and uncomfortable. I had to apply dusting powder on their bodies and remove their clothes before they stop crying,” Mrs. Janet Oche, said.
