The FCT police have arraigned ten teenage boys before a Grade 1 Area Court sitting in Gwagwalada, Abuja, for allegedly assaulting a vigilante member, Idris Suleiman.

The prosecutor, Barrister A.A. Tanko, said the defendants were arraigned for criminal conspiracy, assault, mischief and extortion contrary to section 97, 265, 327, and 292 of the penal code law.

He told the court that at about 7:20 pm, Idris Suleiman, a vigilante member of Anguwar Zango, Gwagwalada, reported at the police station that Saidu Abdullahi of the same address, allegedly conspired with nine others and attacked the complainant with sticks and cutlasses.

The counsel to the defendants, Barrister Lucky Ogbeayo, applied for the bail of the defendants to enable him to take pictures of the defendants who were injured.

The judge, Adamu Isah, therefore granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100,000 each with one surety in like sum.

He adjourned the matter till January 18, 2021, for hearing.
