The Chairman-elect of Kuje Area Council in the FCT, Samuel Danjuma Shekwolo, has set up a 12-member Action Plan Committee to develop a strategic, development-driven roadmap for his incoming administration.

The Vice Chancellor of Leadership University, Kuje, Abuja, Prof. Mohammed Abdullahi Evuti, has been appointed chairman of the committee.

Speaking during the inauguration of the committee in Kuje on Wednesday, Shekwolo said the initiative was aimed at producing a clear action plan that would guide his administration from inception.

He explained that the committee’s recommendations would provide direction for the council’s activities immediately after his inauguration in June 2026.

Shekwolo noted that several sectors in the council face significant challenges, particularly security, health, education, and agriculture.

He expressed concern over the state of education in the area, citing dilapidated primary school infrastructure, a shortage of teachers, and inadequate furniture such as desks and chairs.

On security, he said the council faces challenges partly due to its difficult terrain, while stressing that agriculture would be prioritised to boost food production and support local farmers.

“We want to identify policies that can be implemented in the short term as well as those that will require a longer timeframe. That is why we set up this committee,” he said.

The chairman-elect gave the committee 21 days to submit a comprehensive roadmap to enable the incoming administration to commence implementation without delay.

Responding on behalf of the committee, its chairman, Prof. Mohammed Abdullahi Evuti, thanked Shekwolo for the confidence reposed in them and assured that the committee would carry out its assignment diligently and without compromise.
