Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Professor Michael Umale Adikwu on Tuesday in Abuja said the institution was in dire need of funding to meeting its mounting challenges.

He was speaking when the House of Representatives Committee on Education led by Rep Aminu Suleiman visited the school.

Prof. Adikwu said the University of Abuja deserves a closer attention from government to meet up with a befitting status and location in the federal capital territory.

One of the school’s projects requiring funding include development of its permanent site, which was prepared based on its Academic and Physical Brief, and designed to be in five phases spanning 25 years, requiring as at 2002, a total of N 77.496 billion. That goal has remained only in the papers over a decade after.

The Vice Chancellor also praised the contribution made by several interventionist agencies which has attracted many projects to the campus.
