Successful indigenous FCT candidates in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be supported by an indigenous Non-Governmental Organisation, Abuja Original Inhabitants Youths Empowerment Organisation (AOIYEO).

The President of AOIYEO, Isaac David, who made this known, said the group intended to fund the education of the successful candidates as part of its plans for 2020, adding that all successful indigenes of Abuja were to submit their results and indigene certificates to the organisation’s office in Asokoro.

David said successful candidates not gaining admission into universities was a setback in the educational sector which should be addressed.

He said, “Definitely, this year if you don’t find your way into a higher institution, you will sit at home for the period of one year. So we intend to give them the window of opportunity, that is why we encourage them to submit the photocopies of their 2020 JAMB results and their indigene certificates to our head office.

“We also want to see how far we can go in gatherings the database of all the indigenous students in Abuja, both those that are doing well and those that are not doing well, in order for us to also know where we can come in to assist.”
