The Vice Chancellor of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, Prof. Joseph Ahaneku, has said steps have been taken to restore peace and security in the institution, as well as academic excellence. 

He said the move had fostered congenial spirit among staff and students in the last three years of his being in office.  

Ahaneku, who recently marked his three years in office in the institution, also listed improvement in the quality of teaching and learning and the completion and commencement of new structures in the university as part of his scorecard. 

He said his ability to institute culture of peer management through a committee system made him overcome the complex system of decision making. 

“In the past three years, my administration has put in place sustained measures to improve and sustain the quality of graduate and post-graduate students’ output, not only in academic content, but also in employability,” he said.
