The Accelium Olympics 2020 is open for schools globally to enrol and compete online using strategic and smart games, the organisers of the competition have said.
The Accelium Olympics is an online educational event that brings together children from all over the world in a tournament between schools. It is being powered in Nigeria by an organisation called, ‘Simply Un4gettable’ in partnership with The Intentional Teachers Network (TITN).
The Founder/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Simply Un4gettable, Adeidunnu Uba said the initiative seeks to bring future of work skills into the classroom; adding that Accelium develops higher-order cognitive, social and emotional skills using strategy games.
“It boosts learning through games based assessment and skill development”, she said.
Games as learning tool according to her creates an exciting and stirring experience; promotes engagement; stimulates discussion on skills development and at the same time allows for a safe environment.
“Our target is to introduce strategic thinking skills to 1,000 Nigerian children in 2020,” she stressed.
