Fifth Chukker, Jos Malcomines, Access Bank Cup winners, Clearwater polo Farm, and other top teams are gearing up for the Access Bank-UNICEF Charity Shield Polo tournament which gallops-off May 30, 2026 at the Fifth Chukker & Country Resort in Kaduna.
The 2026 edition is one of Africa’s most prominent charity platforms organized by Fifth Chukker Polo & Country Resort and sponsored by Access Bank to raise funds in support of UNICEF programmes and drive development in the communities it serves.
Apart from the regulars, the tournament will feature ambitious teams like Arabian Apartment, Golden Brickmore, Keystone Bank, Profile and ZYN polo, alongside Abuja Rubicon and Pop Cola from Kano, in what promises to be a fierce contest for honours.
Two former champions Access Bank polo and Malcomines have been confirmed for the event’s top prize – Charity Shield, while Clearwater/ DeeBee Farms remains the team to beat in the race for the second most coveted trophy.
Other prizes to be vied for include the Usman Dantata Cup, Herbert Wigwe Cup and the crowded UNICEF Cup.
According to the line up of events, the 2026 edition will also feature a special Children’s Day event that would see Over 150 school pupils and their teachers spending the whole day at the foremost resort in Kaduna, engaging in various sporting activities, drawing and painting.
The Children’s Day which has become a popular item on the annual calendar of the fundraising polo fiesta recently received high profile commendations.
Meanwhile, the title sponsors Access Bank and its partners, have taken their commitment to UNICEF Charity polo fundraising platform to a new level with the construction of additional 120 classroom blocks in Kaduna State, to enhance educational infrastructure for underprivileged children
It will be recalled that since 2008, when the UNICEF Charity Shield received a major boost with Access Bank taking up a multi-year sponsorship, that partnership has strengthened local authorities, and community leaders to maximize the impact of the intervention program and promote long-term sustainability.
The 2026 edition of the high-profile polo tournament will offer thrilling matches, outstanding performances, and charitable spirit that will resonate throughout the fiesta.
