The principal, who was  with her driver in a 92 model Honda with Lagos registration number JF 984 AAA, had a head on collision with an on-coming BMW car with Borno State registration number AV 429 MAG, which had a tyre burst while moving on high speed.

Her driver was said to have lost his life also after he was rushed to  Sani Abacha Specialist Hospital in Damaturu.

Mr S. G. Maitizumahs, state sector commander of the FRSC confirmed the accident.

Some staff and students of the GGSS Ngelzarma, who thronged to Damaturu shortly after the news of the death of their principal was broke, were seen in tears at the hospital. Many of them described her as a virtuous woman with amiable character.

Maimuna Yusuf, a teacher in the school, said the demise of the principal was a great loss, not only to her immediate family and the school, but a big blow to the educational sector in Yobe State.  

Hajiya Kaka left behind her husband and many children.
