The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) has called on secondary school students to study accounting at undergraduate level to meet the demand of both private and public sectors.
National president of the institution, Otunba Olufemi Deru, made the call in his keynote address at a workshop tagged “catch them young” organized by the Federal Polytechnic, Bida recently.
Otunba Olufemi Deru, who was represented at the occasion by the district chairman, Niger State chapter, Mr. Victor Onache, stated that the aim of the programme was to encourage youths to develop interest in becoming chartered accountants so as to meet national demand.
