Delay of voting materials and officials caused delay in commencement of accreditation in Badariya, a densely populated area in Birnin Kebbi.
When our correspondent visited Massalacin Maisaje, Kola Tarasa and Haliru Abdu polling units, neither INEC officials nor the materials had arrived.
In Sanda Buza Dangaladima polling unit, voters were seen on queues with their food packs.
“We have been on queue since 6:00am and up till now, we haven t seen INEC officials and nobody came to tell us what happened,” a voter said.
A candidate for APC Birnin Kebbi/Kalgo/ Bunza federal constituency, Engr Abdullahi Muslim ,called on INEC to send materials and staff so that no voter will be disenfranchised. Sakaba Local Government Area chairman, Barr Ibrahim Mohammed Sakaba, confirmed that Fada ward has shortage of ballot papers.
