A fast-rising actor and producer, Demola Yusuf, has expressed excitement over the nomination of Kukoyi, a 2025 Africa Magic Yourba series, for Best Indigenous MNET Original Series at the 2026 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award (AMVCA).
Produced by David Akande, Kukoyi was nominated in the same category alongside
Inimba, Undugu, Out N’ About (Harar), Kampala Creme, The Chocolate Empire and Mgbuka.
Winners will be announced at the grand finale of the prestigious award scheduled for May 9, 2026 in Lagos.
Yusuf, who is among actors in Kukoyi, has featured in MNET original productions, including Iboju. He also served as Production Coordinator in the nominated series, playing a key role in the production process.
“I am excited about this nomination,” said Yusuf whose debut feature film, Alaise, won Best Indigenous Language movie or TV series (Yoruba) at AMVCA 2022.
“This nomination is a testament to what is achievable as a team through diligence, dedication, sacrifice and mutual cooperation.
