The honor for late actress and actors is becoming a regular thing after such a tribute was earlier conducted early this month for late Enebeli Elebuwa and Pete Eneh. A candle light precession was observed in Lagos and Delta states respectively.
The tribute and candle light procession for late c Esiri is scheduled to come up on Monday. April 8th, 2013 in Lagos by 6pm. like every other tribute, this one for Esiri has a dress code which is White.
In another development, the Producers of ‘The Assassin’s Practice’ have dedicated the movie to the memory of late Justus Esiri(OON).
In a press statement released by the producers this week, they said “the late Chief Esiri was a reassuring pillar of support during and after the production of ‘The Assassin’s Practice’. He will be greatly missed, but while we mourn his passing, we also celebrate his contributions to and achievements in the Nigerian, and indeed African entertainment industry.” The movie is scheduled for release in Nigeria this year.
Chief Justus Esiri, aged 71, who hails from Delta State, died on February 19, 2013 reportedly died of complications resulting from diabetes at an undisclosed hospital in Lagos. His death is the latest on the long list of celebrities in the entertainment industry who had died.
Esiri is survived by a wife and six children including Mrs. Edewor, the first child and pop star, Dr. Sydney Esiri better known as Dr. Sid. He will be buried after the Lenten period in the third week of April in accordance with Catholic Church doctrines.
