A public affairs analyst, Ajiri Daniels, has said the growing political support for Princess Ada Ogbu reflects increasing public demand for a new style of leadership in Enugu East Senatorial District.

Daniels, in a statement issued from Abuja, said many residents of the district had become frustrated with what he described as years of unfulfilled political promises, poor representation, and disconnect between political leaders and the people.

According to him, communities across Enugu East continue to face challenges including unemployment, poor infrastructure, economic hardship, insecurity, and declining public trust in leadership.

“For too long, the people of Enugu East Senatorial District have endured a political culture built on recycled promises, elite entitlement, invisible representation, and leaders who remember the people only when elections approach,” he stated.

Daniels said many residents now believe the district’s greatest challenge is not lack of potential, but the absence of “courageous and people-driven leadership.”

He noted that Princess Ada Ogbu’s growing political momentum was becoming increasingly difficult to ignore due to what he described as her visibility, accessibility, and grassroots connection across the district.

“At a time when many politicians remain disconnected from ordinary citizens, Ada Ogbu has emerged as one of the few political figures whose visibility, accessibility, and grassroots connection continue to resonate strongly across the district,” he said.

The analyst further stated that Ogbu had built her political identity through direct engagement with citizens rather than dependence on political structures and godfathers.

“Unlike career politicians who often hide behind party structures and political godfathers, Princess Ada Ogbu has built her political identity through direct engagement with the people,” he added.

Daniels also said many youths in the district were becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the recycling of political leadership among the same political class.

“The district is filled with educated but frustrated youths who are tired of watching political power rotate among the same circles while ordinary citizens continue to struggle,” he said.

He added that Ogbu’s consistent public engagement and visibility during difficult political periods had helped strengthen her grassroots support, especially among women, youths, and first-time voters.

Daniels also described her alignment with the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) as a bold political move aimed at creating an alternative political platform.

“At a time when many politicians move only where power already exists, Princess Ada Ogbu is helping shape a new political movement rather than merely seeking comfort within old systems,” he stated.

According to him, Ogbu’s emergence also represents a significant moment for women’s participation in politics in the South-East.

“To many women across Enugu State, her political journey represents strength, independence, and the refusal to be intimidated by a political culture historically dominated by male power networks,” Daniels said.

He maintained that many residents of Enugu East were now seeking leaders who are visible, accessible, and willing to identify with the struggles of ordinary people.

Daniels added that supporters of Ogbu believe the district is currently at “a political crossroads between continuing with politics as usual or embracing a new generation of visible, people-centered, and courageous leadership.”
