Adahama was speaking during the celebration of the 38th anniversary of the fund at the ITF area office in Kano. He said it was unfortunate that while important sectors like education was suffering, huge amount was being spent on the payments of Hajj seats for hundreds of people.
He advised that there was the need for government to prioritize its expenses in such a way that it would address more important and pressing issues of the common man. He also said it was unfortunate that elites in the society shied away from criticizing government policies and activities with the fear of being sidelined by the government.
Adahama further stressed that training in skills acquisition was very important in the development of any society but lamented it was not considered as a priority in Nigeria. He said it was high time that government have a rethink in the area of training and skills acquisition among youths.
