Kaduna-based writer and journalist,  Dickson Salami Adama, will on June 4th, 2016 join the league of published writers when he presents to the public his debut novel, ‘Ancestral  Farewell.’
The presentation will be coming up at Kaduna’s Women Multipurpose Centre and is expected to draw book-lovers from all walks of life from within and outside the city.
The book, published by Transconventional Publishers, includes a forward by Professor Umaru Pate, the Dean, Faculty of Media Communication and Film Studies, Bayero University, Kano. It has been reviewed by Professor Solomon Omayiwa among others, whose feedback have been channelled into making the book better.
In his praise for the book, Prof. Pate said: “‘Ancestral Farewell’ has not only come to add to the available African literature but has come to be unprecedentedly different. The style is unique and so are the narrative, description, characters, intrigues, dialogue, arguments, camouflage, suspense, captivating sequences, the climax and anti-climax, as well as the final message.”
He also said that Adama has added a niche for himself in the literary world with his debut novel, which he says has a real life appeal.
He said that the novel is demonstrating how African communities need to uphold just cause and rely less on superstitions and unhelpful tradition.
Adama has devoted years to producing this novel and has subjected it to the scrutiny of experts and critics to improve the final content in order to launch himself into the literary arena on a sound footing.
