Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved the cancellation of right-of-way fees for Information and Communication Technology infrastructure.

Humwashi Wonosikou, the governor’s media spokesman, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.

Wonosikou said the decision was to foster a conducive environment for the development of ICT infrastructure as well as the promotion of digital inclusion across Adamawa State.

He said Governor Fintiri has directed the state’s Ministry of Justice, Board of Internal Revenue, and the Special Adviser on ICT, e-Governance, and Policy to collaborate with the office of the Secretary to the State Government to initiate the process of amending the relevant law with the House of Assembly to eliminate the right-of-way fees.

“The strategic move is aimed at attracting investment in ICT infrastructure, stimulating economic growth, and enhancing access to high-speed internet services for the benefit of all citizens of Adamawa State,” the statement added.
