Adamawa: Fintiri bans officials from using covered number plates

Adamawa state governor, Ahmadu Fintiri

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has issued a directive prohibiting government officials from covering their vehicle number plates while driving on state roads.

The move is aimed at preventing individuals with ulterior motives from impersonating government officials and using the covered plates to engage in illicit activities.

Governor Fintiri made the statement after receiving an award for excellence as a gender-friendly governor by Adamawa State women.

The governor emphasized the importance of supporting women, who carry dual responsibilities in societal development, from managing households to raising children.

The women also awarded the deputy governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, and the governor’s wife, Lami Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for their supportive roles and good representation of women in politics and leadership.

The deputy governor thanked the governor and his wife for providing opportunities for women in the state, ensuring that building women’s capacity in Adamawa is just the beginning of their participation at national and international levels.
