The first lady made the commendation during the presentation of medals, gifts and championship trophy to the winning team at the just concluded 2012 Para soccer tournament in Lagos, noted that, the game will go places in Nigeria and eventually Africa.

He called on other physically challenged person to register and compete in subsequent editions of the annual event.

Eight teams, namely TC Warriors, Lead United, NAS Warriors, Premium Sports, Kwara State United, Plateau State, Adamawa State and Nasarawa State featured in this year’s tournament.

NAS Warriors, a team led by Yeni Kuti, daughter of popular Afro beat singer, Fela Anikulapo emerged the winner of the 5th edition of the tournament displacing TC Terrors, four times winners in the finals while Adamawa State emerged as the second runner-up of the event which was held at the National Institute for Sports (NIS) Gymnasium at the National stadium, Lagos.

Managing director of Promasidor, Chief Keith Richards, said the company is always willing to assist its host communities, and that the physically challenged in the society should be assisted; adding that it is a cause which the company is committed to.
