Rev. Eric Theman, the Adamawa gubernatorial candidate of Movement for the Restoration and Defence of Democracy (MRDD), has urged INEC to cancel the governorship election in the state over absence of his party logo on the ballot paper.
Theman told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Yola that whatever the outcome of the election was unacceptable to him and his party.
“I reject the election and urge INEC to stop the process of announcing the results immediately.
“My party is not on the ballot paper and I will reject whatever is the outcome,” Theman said.
Reacting to the development, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of INEC in Adamawa, Mr Kashim Gaidam, said the issue was beyond his mandate.
According to him, the INEC headquarters in Abuja was in a better position to explain the situation. (NAN)
