The Adamawa state government has granted automatic employment to 60 engineering graduates who studied in India under the state’s foreign scholarship scheme.
The beneficiaries recently completed their studies and the mandatory one-year national service.
State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr Umar Umar Garba Pella, said the graduation of the students shows the governor’s commitment to human capital development.
According to Pella, the scholarship initiative was introduced in 2020 to provide Adamawa indigenes with access to world-class engineering education in India.

He said Governor Fintiri has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to sustaining the scholarship programme for future beneficiaries, having been impressed by the outstanding performance of the graduates.
The commissioner disclosed that preparations are underway to send another batch of students to China for advanced studies.
