A faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by Hon. Nafiu Bala Gombe, has stated that the party was not involved in the recently held National Summit of Opposition Political Parties in Ibadan.

In a statement issued by the faction’s Director of Media and Public Affairs, Christopher Okechukwu, the group said it was formally disassociating itself from the gathering, noting that those in attendance were not representing its leadership.

“We wish to clarify that the leadership of the party under Hon. Nafiu Bala Gombe was not part of the Ibadan summit,” Okechukwu said.

“Our focus remains on strengthening the party’s structures and engaging our members in line with our constitution and democratic principles.”

He added that the faction remains committed to due process and ongoing legal engagements.

“We have confidence in the relevant legal processes and will continue to act in accordance with the rule of law,” he said.

Okechukwu also assured members and supporters nationwide of the party’s readiness to participate fully in the 2027 general elections.

“The African Democratic Congress is preparing to participate fully in the 2027 general elections, and we are committed to presenting credible candidates at all levels,” he added.

The faction urged its supporters to remain calm and focused as the party continues its activities.
