The 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) was held on Saturday night in Lagos, bringing together actors, filmmakers, content creators and entertainment personalities from across Africa.

The annual event celebrated excellence in African film, television and digital content, with several stars and productions emerging winners across different categories.

One of the major highlights of the night was the success of Lisabi, the historical epic produced by actor and filmmaker Lateef Adedimeji, which won the award for Best Indigenous Language Film (West Africa).

While receiving the award, Adedimeji dedicated the win to his wife and actress, Adebimpe Oyebade, appreciating her support throughout the production process.

Actress Linda Ejiofor also stood out during the ceremony, while Uche Montana clinched the Trailblazer Award in recognition of her growing impact in the film industry.

Content creators Sophia Chisom and Emmanuel Kanaga won the Best Digital Content Creator category for their project Leave To Live.

Other winners announced at the event include Our Memories for Best Indigenous Language Film (North Africa), while Addis Fikir by Leul Shoaferaw won the Best Indigenous Language Film (East Africa) category.

To Kill A Monkey won the award for Best Editing, while Beyond Olympic Glory emerged winner in the Best Documentary category.

In the Best Short Film category, Hussainin by Orire Nwani and Josh Olaoluwa took home the prize.

My Father’s Shadow won the Best Score/Music category, while Nigerian Idol Season 10 won Best Unscripted M-Net Original, with credits going to Sulaiman Kassim and Ameke.

Actor Uzor Arukwe won the Best Lead Actor award for his role in Colours of Fire, while Out N’ About (Harar) emerged winner in the Best Series (Unscripted) category.
