For Adegoke Oluwafemi Samson, drumming is more than just performance it is a language,a form of expression shaped by culture, discipline and years of dedication. With over 15 years behind the drum set,he has grown into a seasoned percussionist whose sound reflects both his Nigerian roots and his evolving global exposure.
Born on December 26 in the early 90’s in Okitipupa,Ondo State, Adegoke’s journey began in a community where music was part of everyday life. Originally from Ondo West Local Government Area,his early years were spent balancing school with a growing curiosity for rhythm and sound. He started his education at St. William’s Nursery and Primary School before moving on to Stella Maris College and later Success Group of Schools in Okitipupa.It was during this period that his interest in music began to take a more serious shape,gradually becoming a path he would fully commit to.
He went on to study at Adeyemi College of Education,Ondo, an institution affiliated with Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, where he graduated in 2014(NCE) and 2019 (B’Edu History).Determined to broaden his horizon beyond performance,Adegoke pursued further studies in the United Kingdom, earning a Master in History from the University of Hull.His academic journey reflects a mindset that values growth, mstructure and a deeper understanding of his craft and environment.
Over the years,he has built a solid reputation as a certified drummer and percussionist, performing across Nigeria and the UK. His sound is defined by a seamless blend of traditional African percussion and modern musical influences, giving him the flexibility to work across different genres and settings.Whether he is playing at live concerts, cultural events or collaborative sessions,his presence behind the drums is both commanding and engaging.
