The occasion was the reception held in honour of the Admiral to mark the conferment of Otun Tarelase of Ile-Ife on Adekeye by the Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade, Olubuse II.

At the event which held at the Banquet Hall of Hilton Hotel, Ile-Ife and was attended by dignitaries from all walks of life, Adekeye was described as a troublesome, but brilliant student. “Most times, you would see him with either a novel or a magazine, but he would contribute well to discussions in the classroom. And his exams results were always very good. Be it English or Mathematics, he would come out with distinction. We knew then that he has exceptional, so we’re not surprised that he has been so successful in life”, said Professor Mosobalaje Oyawoye, Chairman of Offa Old Boys Association.
