A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and former presidential aide on electoral matters, Yomi Alarape, has asked the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) to adopt a consensus option for the emergence of the party’s governorship candidate in Ondo State.
Addressing newsmen in Abuja yesterday, the APC chieftain said the demand followed the massive influx of party chieftains into the race, ahead of the party’s primary slated for July 20, 2024.

Adopt consensus for Ondo gov’ship candidate, APC chieftain tells NWC
He said, “Prominent Ondo indigenes are already indicating interest in the exalted but challenging office. As a stakeholder in Ondo State, I call on the party and the people to rally round the man who means well to all of us.
“As for the APC, the choice is theirs to make. The party knows the importance of loyalty. Wale Akinterinwa, a former Commissioner of Finance in Ondo State, is a man propelled by a burning desire to champion the public good.
“Therefore, I urge the NWC to conduct a free, fair and credible primary. I expect the NWC to adopt the consensus option to enable the party to retain the state.”
